About the Society

History of the Show

The Berry Show dates back to the late 1800s, when an unofficial agricultural exhibition was held at nearby Broughton Creek. The official Show was first staged on the current site in 1884, and by the turn of the century the custom was firmly established.

Today the Show is a mix of old and new. It gives a window into agricultural history and practices that are still very much alive, over a relaxed weekend with something for everyone.

Each year the Society honours a Show Treasure, someone whose work shaped the Show. Read about the 2027 Show Treasure.

The most recent chapter is in the photos: Remembering the 2026 Show.
