Each year, the AgShows NSW Young Woman Competition seeks to find an ambassador for rural New South Wales and the agricultural show movement. Open to women aged 18–26 who reside in NSW, the competition celebrates community involvement, leadership, and a passion for agriculture.
Sponsored by Broughton Ridge Dairy

Matilda Forsyth, proudly sponsored by Broughton Ridge Dairy, is an inspiring young woman whose dedication and achievements span education, agriculture, and competitive sports.
At 18 years old, Matilda is currently embarking on her career as a first-year apprentice plant mechanic. She graduated from Oak Flats High School in 2024, where her commitment to the agricultural sector was recognized when she was named the Primary Industries Student of the Year for the Illawarra and South Coast. During her time at school, Matilda also completed a Certificate II in both Agriculture and Animal Studies, further strengthening her agricultural knowledge and practical skills.
An accomplished 10m air rifle target shooter, Matilda regularly travels interstate to represent New South Wales in competitions. Her passion for sports extends to equestrian events, where she has been competing in horse events at various agricultural shows along the coast and interstate since she was five years old.
Matilda’s commitment to her community is equally impressive. In 2023, she served as an Ambassador for the Albion Park Show. The following year, she volunteered at the Berry Show, helping to set up the Young Farmers Challenge and the hay stacking competition alongside the TAG team.
Looking ahead, Matilda’s ambition is to represent Australia in the 10m Air Rifle shooting event at the 2028 Olympics, while also establishing herself as a successful plant mechanic.
Matilda entered the Berry Show Young Woman competition with the goal of meeting and forming friendships with like-minded individuals. She is passionate about representing the agriculture industry and is dedicated to making a positive contribution within the Berry community.
