the 137th Berry Show

Competitions at the Show

Berry Show Young Woman Competition

In 2021, The Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of NSW and the Agricultural Societies Council (ASC) of NSW reached an agreement to rename the Showgirl Competition. Therefore starting from 2022, this competition - which hasn’t been a feature of the Berry Show since 2019 - will be known as the Berry Show Young Woman Award.

The Young Woman Competition is not a beauty pageant, its aim is to discover a young female ambassador for rural NSW.

Each year, over 500 young women from all across NSW participate in the overall competition. They are assessed based on their deep understanding and passion for rural Australia, along with their confidence, ambition, life goals, general knowledge, presentation skills, and public speaking abilities.

All Berry Young Woman entrants are encouraged to maintain their connection with the Berry Show Society throughout the year, where they can participate in Show meetings and events.

The revival of this competition in 2024 adds an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming Show.
