Exhibiting at the Show
Goats have been an integral part of the Berry Show since the 1980s. In 2025 the goat section features classes exclusively for Angora goats, a unique breed of goat primarily known for its luxurious coat which is highly valued in the textile industry. Angora goats can thrive on land that might not be suitable for other livestock contributing to sustainable land use.
Angora goat judging is on the Saturday of the show in the Goat Shed. Classes on offer are Fleece, Doe, Buck and Speciality.
It is a requirement in NSW for owners of livestock such as cattle, sheep, goats and pigs to have a Property Identification Code (PIC) when trading or moving these livestock.
A PIC is a unique eight-character number assigned by Local Land Services to properties with livestock. This property registration system allows for the tracing of livestock to assist with disease and chemical residue management.
To obtain a PIC you must complete an application form and lodge it with your Local Land Services office.
