Saturday’s livestock program turns to beef cattle, with judging from 8.30am across two rings. European and British breeds compete in a full program of age and championship classes, building to the interbreed judging and the Brian McGoldrick Memorial Supreme Beef Exhibit.

Younger competitors can show their skills in the Group 5 Junior Steer Pointscore and Paraders’ competitions, and there’s a class for adult paraders too. The program continues with led heifer and steer classes before finishing with the Trade Hoof Competition, open to steers and heifers in three weight divisions. These animals are sold at a live auction after judging.

Beef raffle

Two sides of beef will be raffled at the end of the judging and live auction. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25, from stores around the area. The steer or heifer is donated by Southwest Limousin & New Day Limousin Studs, and Mountain Side Meats (Berry, Shoalhaven Heads and North Nowra) is donating the skill and time to cut up and package the prize.
